The term “Big Data” , written with the initials in capital letters, inspires a certain awe, doesn’t it? Awe… or rather, it frightens! As always, we fear what we don’t know . But it’s not something we should fear… We just have to know it.

For starters, the term itself is

A very new trend, but what it refers to is not. The definition I like best so far, out of the hundreds I’ve read on the Internet over the past two years, is the one Lisa Arthur wrote for Forbes .

“Big Data is the collection of data that companies collect from both traditional and digital sources that will serve as the basis for future analysis ”

To this definition, I would add that it is an “analysis that allows the use of this data in the m database d ost beneficial way possible for a business ”. That is, using the files with customer data to make certain business decisions as well as to direct a Digital Marketing strategy in one way or another.

But the most important thing to know about Big Data Marketing is how these data files, which are worth a fortune today, are going to be used. This is precisely the battle that large digital companies such as Google, M advertising and sponsored posts – which is more profitable? icrosoft, Facebook, or Twitter are currently engaged in.

Whoever has the largest possible database and knows how to apply the right techniques to benefit from it, will have the power . This is why these multinationals are currently continually asking all users for their personal data , again and again.

Arriving at this point requires me to make a clarification. Among these ways of using customer or follower data files is NOT sending Spam or unauthorized Emails to users who have never subscribed to your website or blog. You have to use this data in an intelligent , legal way, respecting user permissions and in a non-aggressive way so that it really has the desired effect.

So… what is the way to use Big Data that can bring the most benefits to a company? Segmentation and behavior observation techniques are the basis of this “new” trend. And its main ally, Google Analytics .
